Who We Are
Meet The Owner
Steven Dyson, owner and licensed plumber at Swell Guy Plumbing, was born and raised in Hanahan, SC.
I was born, raised, and probably drank out of the garden hose right here in Hanahan. I know this town, its homes, and its plumbing inside and out. When you call Swell Guy Plumbing, you’re not getting a nameless big-box franchise—you’re getting a neighbor who grew up down the street and knows how to keep Lowcountry pipes flowing smooth.
How Did We Get Our Name?
Hi, I’m Steven Dyson, owner of Swell Guy Plumbing. You might think 'Swell Guy' just means a friendly neighbor, but it actually comes from a personal journey. Back in 2023, severe, unexplained joint swelling almost forced me to hang up my wrench for good until I was diagnosed with spondyloarthritis. Thanks to modern medicine and a great rheumatologist, that pain is now a distant memory. Today—and that's also why you see the pufferfish in our logo!—I’m proud to be back doing what I love, serving my neighbors right here in Hanahan with reliable, honest plumbing.

Water Heater & Tankless Services
Lowcountry sediment can quickly build up in Hanahan water heaters, leading to popping noises, reduced efficiency, and sudden breakdowns. To keep your home’s hot water reliable, we offer traditional and tankless water heater installations—including high-efficiency Rinnai and Navien models—alongside rapid repairs for elements or thermostats and annual maintenance flushes. Whether you need a 50-gallon tank replacement or emergency service, we ensure your system runs smoothly and efficiently year-round.
