Why Do Lowcountry Homeowners Trust Swell Guy Plumbing?
Get to know Swell Guy Plumbing
Born and raised in Hanahan, SC, I’m a lifelong Lowcountry resident. After graduating from The Citadel in 1995 and serving in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard, I earned my plumbing license in 1997. Today, I call Summerville home and operate Swell Guy Plumbing Co. right out of Goose Creek, SC.
You might assume "Swell Guy" just means a friendly plumber—and while I aim to be one, the name actually has a deeper story. In 2023, I was diagnosed with spondyloarthritis, an auto-immune condition causing severe joint swelling (hence the pufferfish in our logo). Doctors thought I might have to hang up my wrench for good. But thanks to modern medicine and a drive to keep moving, I’m right back doing the work I’ve loved for nearly three decades.
You won’t find me hiding behind a desk. I’m on-site for every job, getting my hands dirty in the Lowcountry heat. Hard work keeps me sharp, keeps me active, and guarantees your home gets the personal, high-quality attention it deserves.
We proudly serve the Charleston Lowcountry area—including Goose Creek, Hanahan, Ladson, Moncks Corner, North Charleston, and Summerville.
Our services include:
• Water Heaters & Tankless Systems
• Drain Cleaning & Sewer Line Repair
• Natural Gas Lines
• Backflow Testing & Repairs
• General Residential & Commercial Plumbing.
Next time you need a trusted plumber, give Swell Guy Plumbing a call. My goal is simple: after the job is done, I want you to say, “My plumber a Swell Guy!”
Our $45 dispatch fee counts toward your actual repair or service
And remember this:
Plumbing problems don’t cure themselves. They’ll keep swelling until they burst (just like the pufferfish in our logo).
So don’t let leaks and clogs linger. Call or schedule online today, and let’s fix them before they turn into a plumbing catastrophe!

Spending long hours working in the Lowcountry sun means constant UV exposure. After having two basal cell carcinomas removed from my right ear, protecting my skin became a priority. Applying sunscreen constantly and wearing wide-brim hats gets tricky while doing hands-on plumbing work, so I switched to UV-rated hoodies. The neon color is just a bonus—I like bright colors, and it makes me easy to spot!
