My name is Steven Dyson. I’m the owner and a licensed plumber at Swell Guy Plumbing Co. I’m also a life long Lowcountry resident. Born and raised in Hanahan, SC. Graduated from The Citadel in 1995. Served in the Army and Army National Guard. Became a licensed plumber in 1997. And now calling Summerville, SC home.

I’m a husband, father, and full time plumber for almost 30 years. I love living in the Lowcountry because of its natural beauty. The ocean, beaches, rivers, creeks, forests, and swamps are my favorite places. Being able to wear shorts year round is also a plus.

I could barely work in 2023 and 2024 due to unexplained joint swelling. I actually considered finding another line of work because constant knee and ankle swelling doesn’t mix well with the physical demands of plumbing. I was referred to a rheumatologist and diagnosed with auto-immune arthritis. Lucky for me, the treatment has worked and I feel incredible. So I get to continue doing the work I enjoy.

You could say I hit the reset button on my plumbing endeavors in 2025. You might think the term Swell Guy refers to a really good guy but it really stems from the term my wife would call me when my knee was the size of a milk jug and I couldn’t walk 10′ to the bathroom. The pufferfish in the logo is my nemesis spirit animal that after 2 rough years has been tamed.

Swell Guy Plumbing Co believes in fair and transparent pricing. Being fair is what drives our pricing strategy. We use flat rate pricing for most of our routine plumbing services. Hourly pricing is used for after hours emergency service. For more complex jobs we will give you a detailed estimate before starting the work. Check out some of our plumbing price ranges below.

Annual Loyalty Plans

Swell Guy Plumbing Co charges a $45 dispatch/scheduling fee (during normal service hours) to visit your property. The $45 counts towards any work we perform.

Do you give pricing over the phone?

Swell Guy Plumbing offers price ranges for many of our services which can be viewed on our website. We do not give prices over the phone because we have to look at the job first to give you a definite price.

Do you work with home warranty companies?

No. Swell Guy Plumbing does not work with home warranty companies.

Do you work on rental properties?

Yes, Swell Guy Plumbing works on rental properties but we require the property owner to schedule the appointment and meet us on site.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, Swell Guy Plumbing has partnered with Wisetack to offer customer financing for jobs over $500. This financing option is offered when we provide you with a written estimate.
