Meet Steven Dyson: Owner & Licensed Plumber
Born and raised in Hanahan, SC, I’m a lifelong Lowcountry resident. After graduating from The Citadel in 1995 and serving in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard, I earned my plumbing license in 1997. Today, I call Summerville home and operate Swell Guy Plumbing Co. right out of Goose Creek, SC.

The Story Behind the Name
You might assume "Swell Guy" just means a friendly plumber—and while I aim to be one, the name actually has a deeper story. In 2023, I was diagnosed with spondyloarthritis, an auto-immune condition causing severe joint swelling (hence the pufferfish in our logo). Doctors thought I might have to hang up my wrench for good. But thanks to modern medicine and a drive to keep moving, I’m right back doing the work I’ve loved for nearly three decades.
